TW Solar by Tongwei

From the silicon up, one maker.

Tongwei is the world's biggest maker of solar cells, nine years running. It makes the silicon, the cells and the panel itself, and sells them here as TW Solar. We fit its 470 W full black panel as our essential pick.

Why we fit TW Solar

Big output, fair price.

When one company controls every step from the raw silicon to the finished panel, it controls the quality and the cost. That is Tongwei: about 150 GW of cell capacity and a place on the Fortune Global 500.

Its panels have been a Kiwa PVEL Top Performer in 2024, 2025 and 2026. On your roof that means an all black panel that looks the part and makes strong power, at the sharpest price in our designer.

  • Essential range in our designer: the best value
  • Full black panel, frame and back
  • Glass front and back for strength

Straight answers

Questions we get asked.

Something not here? Ring or text 0468 179 539 any hour and ask.

Is TW Solar the same as Tongwei?

Yes. TW Solar is the name Tongwei's panels are sold under. Same company, same factories.

Why is it cheaper than AIKO?

AIKO's back contact cells cost more to make and squeeze a little more from each square metre. TW Solar is the straight value pick: strong output, a full black look and a 25 year product warranty.

Which of the two panels will I get?

On a normal roof, the 470 W Full Black. The 510 W has a clear back and is at its best where light reaches underneath, like a carport or pergola. It is also bigger and heavier. We'll recommend the one that suits your roof.

What if a panel fails?

Under warranty, our licensed electricians replace it at no cost to you and we deal with Tongwei.
