Why we fit GoodWe
Solid backup at a fair price.
The ESA puts the inverter and the whole home backup switch in one box, and stacks GoodWe's Lynx D batteries underneath. In a blackout it switches in under 4 milliseconds, which most homes never notice.
It is fanless and quiet on single phase, takes twice its rating in solar, and keeps its batteries warm in a Victorian winter with built in heating. It reports to GoodWe's SEMS+ app, and to us.

Does it really back up the whole house?
Yes. The ESA's bypass carries the house (63 A on most models), and in a blackout the inverter supplies up to its rating. A 10 kW ESA runs most homes, though big ducted air conditioning may need to wait.
Does it need the internet?
GoodWe pushes firmware updates over the internet and says the warranty may not apply if it can't. We connect it on install day.
Which battery modules will I get?
Usually the 9.0 kWh Lynx D modules. Each one supplies 4.5 kW, so we pair enough of them to match the inverter, and the designer does that for you.
Will it get the federal battery rebate?
We confirm the exact inverter and battery combination against the approved list on your quote. The designer prices the rebate for your install date; it steps down on 1 January.
