How we look after your information.

This policy explains what Eucalypt Solar Pty Ltd (ABN 97 686 829 274), trading as Eucalypt Solar, collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and how you can ask about it. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Last updated 31 October 2026.

What we collect

When you use the online quote we collect the address you type, your answers about the house (roof type, storeys, power supply), the design you make on the roof photo, and the name, phone number and email you give us to see the price. If you book a site inspection we also collect the day and time you choose. If you request a call back we collect what you put in the form, including any message.

If you later send us a power bill, we collect the usage, tariff and retailer details on it so we can size and price a system for you.

Aerial imagery and roof reading

To put panels on your roof we look up the address with Google mapping services and read the roof from the current aerial photo and building data. That reading is done with automated services, including an artificial intelligence model that draws the roof outline and lines on the photo. The address and the photo of the roof are sent to those services for that purpose only. The photo shows the roof and the property as seen from above, the same imagery available in public mapping products.

Why we collect it

To show you a design and an indicative price for your home.
To book and carry out a site inspection and, if you go ahead, the installation.
To contact you about your quote or booking by phone, text or email.
To check your eligibility for government rebates and loans, with your consent, and to lodge the paperwork for them.
To improve the quoting tool. We keep layouts, the inputs behind them and the changes customers make so the engine can be tuned from real use.

Marketing

We only send you marketing if you tick the separate box asking for it. That box is never ticked for you. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and you can ask us to stop at any time by replying or emailing gday@eucalypt.solar. Messages about your own quote, booking or job are not marketing.

Cookies and analytics

When you arrive from an advertisement we keep the ad’s reference (such as a Google or Facebook click id and campaign tags) in a first party cookie for 90 days, so we know which ad brought you if you go ahead. We may also use Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measurement tools, which set their own cookies and receive the pages you view and the actions you take on this site, such as completing a quote. Those providers may combine that with information they hold about you under their own policies. You can block cookies in your browser; the quoting tool still works without them.

Who we share it with

Your information is shared only as needed to deliver what you asked for: the mapping and artificial intelligence services described above, our scheduling and customer system, our email and text message providers, the installer attending your inspection, and government rebate schemes when you ask us to claim on your behalf. Some providers process data outside Australia. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Quotes and designs are kept so you can come back to them and so we can tune the tool. If you become a customer, your records are kept for as long as the law and the warranties on your system require. You can ask us to delete your quote at any time.

Access, correction and complaints

Email gday@eucalypt.solar or call 0468 179 539 to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to make a complaint. We answer within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the current version.
