New Generation Solar of Geelong has closed its company. What owners can do

New Generation Solar Pty Ltd, the Geelong installer, was deregistered in September 2026. What that means for owners in Geelong, Ballarat and Warrnambool.

New Generation Solar Pty Ltd, the family owned Geelong installer that also worked in Ballarat and Warrnambool, was deregistered on 10 September 2026 and its ABN was cancelled eleven days later. Systems it installed carry on making power, and the makers' warranties are separate from the company.

What the records show

We read these on 4 November 2026:

  • ASIC company data shows New Generation Solar Pty Ltd, ACN 137 914 660, deregistered on 10 September 2026
  • ABN Lookup shows its ABN cancelled on 21 September 2026, and its GST registration cancelled in April 2024
  • Solar Directory archived its listing in August 2024 after its website stopped working

We found no notice of a liquidator or administrator on ASIC's published notices, and nothing on why it closed, so this reads as a company that stopped trading and was wound down.

Two things point the other way, and you should know them. A Google listing still showed the business as open at Moolap, with a single review. The business name New Generation Solar also still showed as registered on the data we read, and we cannot say who holds it. If you reach someone using the name, ask them in writing whether they stand behind your warranty.

Your warranties

SolarQuotes lists Hyundai, LONGi and Ulica panels and Fronius and SMA inverters against New Generation Solar, and an older note mentions Tianwei panels. Check your own gear. Photograph your inverter label, find your panel brand on your invoice, and contact the maker about anything inside its warranty period.

The company's own workmanship promise came from a company that no longer exists, so do not count on it. Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 558 181 can tell you what options remain.

Many of these systems are now getting on in years, so also check that your inverter is still reporting. An inverter that has failed can leave an older system making nothing without anyone noticing. Our general guide has the rest of the steps: what to do when a solar installer closes.
