Glower is in liquidation. What owners can do now

Glower of St Kilda, known for heat pumps and solar, went into administration in January 2026 and liquidation that February. What owners can do.

Glower, the St Kilda electrification company that sold heat pumps, solar and air conditioning, went into voluntary administration in January 2026 and into liquidation the following month. Whatever it installed at your place keeps working, and the makers' warranties are separate from Glower. If you paid for something that never arrived, contact the liquidators soon.

What the records show

We read these on 4 November 2026:

  • ASIC notices show a winding up application against Glower Pty Ltd published in July 2025
  • administrators were appointed on 21 January 2026
  • on 26 February 2026 the company was taken to have resolved to wind up, with Garth O'Connor-Price and Laurence Fitzgerald of William Buck as joint liquidators
  • Google lists its St Kilda premises as permanently closed
  • the company's old web address now looks to be for sale

ABN Lookup still showed the ABN as active when we checked, which can lag. The ASIC notice is the record to rely on.

Who to contact

The liquidators are at William Buck, Level 20, 181 William Street, Melbourne, on (03) 9824 8555 or vic.creditorinfo@williambuck.com.

If you paid a deposit

Tell the liquidators in writing what you paid and what you were promised. Ask your bank or card provider about a chargeback too, because time limits apply. Consumer Affairs Victoria says you may be able to claim as an unsecured creditor, though creditors often get back only part of what they are owed, or nothing.

If the work was done

Heat pumps and air conditioners. Find the brand and model on the unit and its paperwork, then contact the maker about anything inside its warranty period. Consumer Affairs Victoria says that is the right door when the business that sold a product is insolvent.

Solar. The same goes for panels and inverters. Ask the maker how a claim works now the installer has gone, and who pays the labour.

Workmanship. Glower's own promise about the quality of its work came from the company, so do not count on it. Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 558 181 can tell you what options remain.

Keep your invoice, your Certificate of Electrical Safety and any rebate paperwork together. If you need a licensed electrician or a refrigeration mechanic to look at a fault, you will want them to hand. Our general guide has the full list of what to do when a solar installer closes.

Questions

Is Glower still trading?

The records say no. ASIC's notices show it in liquidation since 26 February 2026.

Does my Glower heat pump warranty still count?

Usually the maker's product warranty does, while it runs. Ask the maker directly and have your model number and invoice ready.

If you are looking at solar or a battery

You can design a system on your own roof and see a real installed price with no sales visit. Every system we install comes with monitoring, fault alerts and warranty claims handled for you. We cannot take on Glower's contracts or workmanship promise, as those belonged to Glower.
